From stuck ideas to tested products in the built environment.

Vector is your external venture team for construction materials, smart sensing, building fabric, and digital innovation.

You get working prototypes, pilot evidence you can act on, and a clear route to commercialisation and scale.

Capabilities

Big ideas get stuck.
We help them move.

Inside large organisations, valuable opportunities often stall between interest and execution. There is budget, a real problem and a reason to act, but not enough ownership or product-building capacity to carry the work forward. That is where Vector fits.

01

Prototypes

Working concepts you can test, show and make decisions around.

02

Pilots

Real-world demonstrations that move innovation out of slides and into use.

03

Products

Commercial development shaped for deployment, licensing or spin-out.

04

IP

Protectable know-how, patentable ideas and strategic value your team can own.

Delivery

We move quickly and make progress visible

Innovation work rarely follows a straight line. We break every engagement into clear stages, with evidence and decision points built in. That means progress stays visible, risk stays manageable, and each phase earns the next.

Why Vector

Your built environment venture team.

Most promising technologies in the sector stall before they become usable products. Certification takes time. Procurement is cautious. Supply chains are fragmented. Internal teams are stretched. Vector exists to move good ideas through that complexity and into something testable, protectable and commercially credible.

01

Sector fluency

We understand the technical, commercial and compliance realities of the built environment.

02

Rapid prototyping

We do not stop at strategy. We help shape the prototype, the pilot, the data and the product pathway.

03

Commercial focus

We build with deployment, licensing, defensibility and traction in mind from the start.

LAMDA, plastic-free rigid wool fibre insulation panels

LAMDA, plastic-free rigid wool fibre insulation panels

Transformed a raw material farmers lose money on into a patent-pending, investable insulation product, now in first commercial sales.

Coarse British sheep wool is abundant, naturally fire-resistant, and typically sold at a loss. We developed a patent-pending green chemistry process that forms it into plastic-free rigid panels matching mineral wool on thermal and acoustic performance. We are scaling LAMDA production in Manchester.

Simple and affordable measurement of how much heat a building actually loses

Simple and affordable measurement of how much heat a building actually loses

Designed, built, and tested a plug-and play wireless sensor at a fraction of the cost of incumbent equipment, ready for neighbourhood-scale deployment.

We assembled a team spanning printed electronics, advanced materials, BMS infrastructure, and building physics to design and build this technology from scratch. Backed by a UK based supply chain, Peltyr is graduating to widespread real-world trials.

Additive that makes plastics fire-safe
Grafire

Additive that makes plastics fire-safe

Achieved up to 80% reduction in flame time in HDPE, with a patent-pending formulation now entering commercial licensing.

Construction and packaging increasingly demand fire-safe recycled plastics, but conventional flame retardants are toxic, heavy, or destroy mechanical properties. Grafire boosts halogen-free fire retardants at lower loadings, cutting cost and preserving recyclability. We are bringing Grafire to market through licensing deals with scale-up partners.

Mechanical reinforcement additive for gypsum plasterboard
Gyptene

Mechanical reinforcement additive for gypsum plasterboard

Demonstrated a 20% increase in mechanical strength at lab scale with a patent-pending gypsum formulation.

Plasterboard is the most widely used wall material in the world, but improving it is deceptively hard. Margins are razor-thin, production lines run at high speed, and any additive has to work at commodity pricing or it will never be adopted. Gyptene unlocks significant performance gains, through a scalable process, with a cost advantage. Co-development discussions are active with major manufacturers.

Open data platform turning fragmented polymer data into reliable recycled plastic
PolymerFlow

Open data platform turning fragmented polymer data into reliable recycled plastic

Helping plastics recyclers make better use of materials data to improve reliability and unlock wider market access.

UK recyclers lose capacity and revenue because they cannot consistently prove quality. Lab and factory data sit in incompatible formats, so linking material properties to process outcomes is manual and slow. PolymerFlow standardises polymer characterisation data, connects instruments to an open platform, and runs automated analysis pipelines.
